LIBRAS’ 2014

LIBRAS’ 2014

KNIGHT OF PENTACLES

This card, the Knight of Pentacles, talks of an improvement in your financial situations, the only catch in it being of keeping patience.

You would need to be hard-working and career-minded this year. The approach of yours towards life should be earthy, practical and calculated.

Passion and enthusiasm are definitely good things to have- but for you, they would prove to be beneficial only when we are able to channelize them into the streams of practical and serious concerns like career and long-term plans.

This year asks you to be mature and serious years ahead of your age.

In relationships, partners who are practical, loyal and hardworking, as well as assisting in advancement of career plans would be a much-welcomed boon.
Also, do not forget to reward yourself occasionally for the hard work you would put in, for the Knight of Pentacles does need to be rewarded for whatever it does, with all the diligence in the world.

THE MAGICIAN (REVERSED)

Beware, my dear Librans. Awaiting you this year is The Magician reversed. This card warns you against trickery and deception-of being careful about whom you place your trust in.
It also speaks of a lack of self-confidence-which could be both a reason and/or a consequence of error of judgment while placing trust (broken trusts do have a tendency to do the latter, trust me).
In turn, this would make you indecisive (a pet peeve of Librans, by default itself)-which would lower your self-confidence even more-entrapping you in a vicious circle of self-sustaining cause –and-effects of low self-confidence. So you would do better to avoid it right from the beginning itself.

Abuse of power is also indicated to be watched out for-either by you or against you.

SEVEN OF PENTACLES (REVERSED)

All-in-all, I’m afraid this year doesn't herald too well for you. It warns you of failed opportunities, despondency and self-induced money problems.

But don’t give way to a despair-just not yet. As all the reversed cards, it also has a catch.
The failures would indeed be there, but only because you would give up-when you would be so close to the FINISH LINE.
Also, you might need to set your priorities right-as this card also tells of losing sight of long-term goals. That could also be one of the contributors to your impending doom. To avoid that, you need to lay back in safety, comfort and un-burden yourself of some responsibilities that you’re carrying on your shoulder. When the shoulders get too heavy, the neck invariably gets lowered, limiting one’s sight-and thus, the ability to look at the long-term, faraway goals, that await us at the horizon. Try it yourself, someday-loading a heavy satchel on the back and looking at a far-off distance. Guess what?? You do end up short-sighted, looking only for the next place to remove that bag of sand that sits over your soaring back. The burdens invariably make one short-sighted; and decisions about long-terms must not be taken while the backs are laden with them.

“Don’t hold on. Let go and relax for a while.” is the message of the reversed Seven of Pentacles.

Losing control over finances is also one thing you should watch out against. Each dime should be spent only when planned in advance for it, and try not to get into money problems.

VIRGOS’ 2014

VIRGOS’ 2014

My fellow Virgos, we have waited long enough for unlocking our fate. Now here’s our chance to see what the fate has in store for us.

KING OF WANDS

This year shall be of special luck to those who are in the careers of sales, teaching, coaching sports teams, and acting, singing, professional sports and most of the other outdoor jobs.

Also the life may test you through situations that demand a considerable amount of wisdom. So be sure to gain and develop that, along with a psychological balance. You’ll have to merge the practicality and flexibility with your high ideals, for it is only then that you shall be able to act with integrity.

THE LOVERS
This card has a much deeper significance, other than the obvious indication of a couple-as depicted. This card also asks you to combine both the masculine and feminine traits –present already; inside you as well as everyone else, more or less.
So apart from saying that a new love is all set to enter your life; this card also presents you with a choice as well-between your heart’s desire and the call of duty. Though you may not even know yourself the source of this love, but its entry would be undeniable and unavoidable-and so would be the test it would bring.
You would have the two ways out-you could either take a risk, and it would have a promise for the new heights of happiness and emotional fulfillment. OR if you think the stakes are too high for you to take the risk, you can stick to your call of duty; and things would remain just the same-no losses, and definitely no gains due to refusing to rise to the opportunity.

TWO OF WANDS

Two of Wands is about successes-earned; often through a partnership. It also tells about a choice-of staying back in a familiar, but no longer stimulating, environment; or making a change-on just a chance of finding what you are looking for, with a certainty of losing what you  already have. It asks you a very simple question, “Are the stakes high enough for you to take the risk?” It hints of some promises without any guarantee of their delivery.
The constraint, of a now-no-more-stimulating environment, could be coming from anywhere-home, job, or even a picture-perfect relationship.

For ensuring success, it wouldn't hurt to ensure working in a partnership instead of the preferred lone-wolf tendency that we, the Virgos, proudly nurture. Even though we may end up doing everything that is there to be done in the partnership, but still, the presence of Two of Wands is an indication that still, it would be more profitable for ourselves to work with someone rather than alone.

LEOS’ 2014

  LEOS’ 2014

TWO OF SWORDS

This is a card of decisions, when put in the simplest way. It’s an indication that an important choice awaits you this year- and you better be careful about it. This would be an important choice; with implications over your beliefs about and position in your life.

I would request you to observe the picture carefully. The woman there sits with two swords-as if to protect herself-but blindfolded; and thus unable to protect herself altogether.
To know more about these choices; I added a card to each side of this one. One of them was THE LOVERS and the other was EIGHT OF SWORDS.

Eight of Swords
This card is one of those where a Tarot Card Reader isn’t needed much for interpretations.  We can see lady-hands bound and eyes obstructed.
This may be describing a situation where you don’t know what the situation exactly is, and how can you do anything about it. Plus you’re powerless too, when it comes to interfering effectively (your hands are tied, remember??)
Then the question is-“what can we do in such a situation??”
The answer lies, again, in the card itself. Look carefully at the figure’s feet and legs. Neither are they bound nor are any swords in front and back of her. They’re there just on her sides, obstructing movement-and/or depicting elements of danger-in those directions; and thus away from the situation. But she’s not aware of it. So she rather tries to either move sideways-look at her posture- or she tries to free her hands.

Analogically, in situations where your knowledge is inadequate and/or your powers of action are limited, plus there’s an element of danger too; it would be a better ploy to move away from the situation-at least for a while, if not permanently.

So, all in all, the Two of Swords provides you with the following options and situations:

Most probably, a new love is about to enter your life (may, or may not, be a person); and you’d know nothing about it, except that it does have promises of escalation of happiness and emotional fulfillment. You’re free to choose it, reject it or do nothing about it. If you do nothing about it, it would also require you to move away from an unfamiliar situation-which, I think, is having any kind of contact with the object or person personifying this ‘new love’ in case you decide to do nothing about it.

THE WHEEL OF FORTUNE (REVERSED)
Your fortunes are in a back gear, Your High and Mighty Majesties- retreating. The luck is about to take back what it had endowed upon you some time ago.

Coming up are the times of misfortunes and unpleasant surprises. But most of all, you will start to feel-at least a little, even if you are super-cynical-your life and its problems ‘fated’-predestined, inevitable, inescapable.
You will start to feel yourself losing control of your life, feelings and emotions. And here it lays the catch.
Though it’s beyond doubt that it is indeed the fate which is pitting problems against you, but it’s YOU-and only YOU-who can get over them-if you want to end things fast.

But there are upsides to this card too, so you need not fret too much-Too much of worry diminishes regal beings, like you undoubtedly are, to the generalized, mundane level of ordinary existence, you know.
What are they??
Firstly, this is a very temporary card; and chances are that your problems may fizz out themselves by the end of the month-though you do need to work on them if you want them to end sooner.
Good or bad; the times heralded by this card are very short-tenured. Neither does the good luck shown by it lasts much, nor the bad.

Secondly, as you already do know (and so is probably almost useless to remind you) that bad times end only when they have, at least, scraped their lowest point. And this card says that those times aren’t too far away. Soon the wheel shall rise to a high point (or at least neutral one) and all shall be well once again.

ACE OF PENTACLES

On the personal front, I think things aren't that complicated for you guys. The Ace of Pentacles represents a new opportunity for growth and development; on the material front.

But it also indicates a lot of energy-perhaps a bit too much. So the energy needs to be contained and channelized in a proper direction.
A new job or a new position within your current job/organization is also shown by this card.

CANCERS’ 2014

                           CANCERS’ 2014

NINE OF PENTACLES

This card is one of the most richly symbolized of all; in the suite of pentacles. With a number of meanings and interpretations, it’s making your life ahead interesting and eventful.
On the most basic level, it heralds a material and/or financial gain; indicating a good time ahead this year; in these fields of your life.

And these blessings wouldn’t be just lucky shot-they would be rewards of your own efforts.
In the picture; the figure stands alone-surrounded by so many coins (the pentacles). This shows that your personal needs would have more than enough to look after; and financial supply for your own needs wouldn’t run out.

The card also shows a lot of nature around you-signaling you to spend some time outdoors; because that’s where you’d find the wealth as well as would be joyfully enjoying it.

However, I’m sure you might have noticed that by now, the figure stand alone. This may indicate an emotional isolation-in spite of having everything else you could possibly wish for.
And this ‘everything’ could very well have been the reason for this.
Nine of Pentacles is also a sign of hard work, discipline and practical approach and planning up to this point of time. And none of them are very good friends of emotions. But now all your personal burdens have been seen to; and you can safely concentrate on your extra-material needs.

Not only romantic partners, but this card also indicates a high time to start looking back at all the people once close to you-that you were forced to walk too ahead of for them to keep up- and seeing if you could possibly rope them back in your circle.
A high time for group projects and goals on the career/financial front can also be expected; if you had been working alone until now.

FIVE OF SWORDS

This is the card of ‘mental acceptance to change’. The change that it wants to talk about may (or may not) refer to the ending of the old and persevered, but yet obsolete, emotional situation.
Whatever the change might be, it would most likely be occurring through an exchange of words, where each person would be speaking out their minds-and not necessarily agreeing with each other. So you wouldn’t be wrong in concluding that, in the simplest forms, this card depicts disputes and arguments.
It may also be hinting towards a parting of ways as the final outcome of the dispute (see the way the figures in the backdrop have their backs turned towards the central one, in a pose of walking away).

But don’t despair so fast. Since this card is not reversed, so the effect of this parting wouldn’t be a negative one on your lives. And, on a definitive upside, if you love winning arguments, no matter what (well, most Gemini natives do), then you can be assured that you would emerge out to be the winner out of this argument.
A downside could be that you would offend people so much while en route to this victory that when the moment would come for you to lift your trophy (the swords in your hand), you may find yourself a bit too much deserted.
Then it lies on your shoulders to decide whether to, or not to, go for this victory because every body’s lives are different; and even Tarot Cards cannot give any cut-and-dried formula that would apply in each of the cases.

THE TOWER

To be honest; I can’t pretend to have a single morsel of thrill to have this card before me-and neither should you.
However, there’re some lessons in this card that you need to learn-either the hard way (by letting this card come true in its full form and figure) or the easy way (may come across as anything but easy to you in the first look; but is actually the better end of the deal. Trust me on that. You don’t want ‘The Tower’ to teach you a lesson.).

The lesson is of not having too much attachment-to anything. It could be a person, a treasured possession or some really old habit that you never plan to come out of.

The Tower is the harbinger of a change-that is approaching too speedily to avoid. Your life is sure to be put on a testing table. You would do better to go along with it- and ensure personally that you have your life back in one piece.

The best you can do is to humbly accept the change that it asks for-and maybe you could avoid even more dire consequences of having the fate change it.
For example; if you have an addictive habit (tobacco, alcohol, or even eating with a particular spoon), you would do better to shed it yourself-rather than make the circumstances make you do it, in their own way. Their ‘ways’ can include terminal stage of cancer, liver sclerosis or even making you lose the particular spoon along with lots of other things in the bag where you keep it.

The change would still be happening in any case whatsoever. But in the former, at least you would be allowed the saving grace of saying that you left the particular thing yourself; and nobody had to force you for it.

GEMINIS’ 2014

                    GEMINIS’ 2014

EIGHT OF CUPS

I don’t think I need to explain much in the case of this card, Geminians. The imagery says it all-or at least a large part of it.

As you can see very well, the figurine on this card is leaving behind the well-prepared and elaborate structure that it, presumably, had prepared itself. He/she had definitely put in a lot of effort and energy, along with even more of patience and time, to take this structure to the height that it has attained.
Don’t you think it would be attached to it? Of course it must have been.

But as we can see very well, it has now left it behind and is now aiming for a new thing (did you see those mountain peaks??); and he/she knows that carrying this set-up (or its components too) is not a practically viable option. So he/she is leaving them behind, and has totally given up on them-since we don’t find him/her looking back towards it.

And this is a message for you.

This card asks you to show the similar strength and resilience as the hero/heroine of this story. This year, you need to outgrow some emotions.
You need to drop the emotional baggage that is thwarting your progress. The reason I emphasize on this baggage being emotional is that the cups are the suite of emotions in the Tarot.
There must be some relationships or other emotional entanglements that might have taken a lot from you to be built. But as of now, they do not hold any meaning to or serve any purpose in your today’s scenario. So, no matter how painful or heartless it may seem-not only to others but to you yourself even-get out of the relations and other things that are tying you down to lower levels when, without them, you could be rising higher. At the end of the day (or year, rather), when you would look back, you would definitely feel that not walking out was better than not doing so.

FIVE OF SWORDS

This is the card of ‘mental acceptance to change’. The change that it wants to talk about may (or may not) refer to the ending of the old and persevered, but yet obsolete, emotional situation.

EIGHT OF SWORDS

Like the two predecessors of it, this card also is one of those where a Tarot Card Reader isn't needed much for interpretations.

We can see a lady-hands bound and eyes obstructed.
This may be describing a situation where you don’t know what the situation exactly is, and how can you do anything about it. Plus you’re powerless too, when it comes to interfering effectively (your hands are tied, remember??)

TAURUS’ 2014

TAURUS’ 2014

THE MAGICIAN and THE HANGED MAN

The combination of these two cards appears to be contradictory in the first look, patient Taureans. But as you always do, be a little patient and bear with me for a while-and see how this conflict is resolved so easily.

The Hanged Man is a symbol of a pause or a limbo that
would infest you this year. Last year was favoring you a bit; adding up to 6(and 6 is the number of Venus; who rules Taurus too). However, entering into 2014, you would no longer have the VIP treatment and need to toil like the other numbers did in 2013. But the good thing is- nobody is lesser afraid of hard work than the bulls.

On the other hand, the Magician is an image of new’s;new opportunities, the importance of new enterprise and most importantly-the assurance that you have the willpower and initiative to take it to the finish line.

It also shows that you need to think on your feet-which, I know, you don’t like at all.

So to resolve the conflict; here’s what I think can be a viable interpretation of this combination:-

The Magician would indeed present you with new opportunities, both within your current enterprise as well as of starting a new one as well(though I would personally suggest you the latter); but to take full advantage of it, you need to develop some really fats thinking, as it is not a natural astrological trait in you.
If you fail at this, the result would be The Hanged Man-the limbo or standstill unless you do.

QUEEN OF SWORDS

This card again is a symbol quick thinking and perceptional decision making. You need to take it as another nudge in the direction of speeding up your grey matter.
The Queen of Swords also depicts combining sympathy with rational thinking. It is when you combine the two that you are able to achieve the real clarity of thought and
would be able to plan shrewdly. Going on either one of the extremes(cold intellect or hot emotionalism) would need to be avoided.

Also, this card indicates a need to concentrate your focus as well. Circumstances may try to waver your attentions this year (7[=2014] is the number of dreamy distractions and muddy thinking as well) but you need to remain focused on your goals and objectives. That would be the only way to overcome the obstacles.

FOUR OF SWORDS

Four of Swords is the card of mental consolidation. It represents a time for you to review your past actions and words, and the consequences and impact they had. It’s time elucidate the track and course of life, to reflect over and make sense of life itself.
If you’re able to distinguish between sound opportunities, that offer a solid growth, and prospects of futile efforts; that shall surely be a time-savior in the long run.
Anyhow, you need to spare time to pause, sit down and spend quite time for reflection, because thoughts about the future and its possibilities can otherwise over-excite you, scatter your (precious, mind you) energies or cause you disturbance and pain.

ARIES’ 2014

ARIES’ 2014

THE HIGH PRIESTESS

The first card, my dear rams, is the High Priestess.

She is a guardian of secrets. Her appearance here indicates a secret.
You’d either be keeping wishing for the revelation of one or you shall end up having or guarding one. Or else, she may be indicating the right time for the revelation of some secret that has been kept hidden in the past.
As a symbol of your intuitiveness and the depths of your subconscious and unconscious mind, she is your guide who’ll help you in tapping into your full potential and deriving power from the inner self.

The occurrence of this card is also a nudge for you in the direction of more trust over your instincts. Let your intuition lead the way.
It may even be representing a person-someone who is capable of offering you a prudent counsel.

For male rams out there, it might also be signifying a very-maybe most- important woman in your life.
Either she’s about to enter your life; or, if already there, she has a significant role to play in shaping your destiny this year.

THE HERMIT

The Hermit is a symbol of introspection and solitude. It asks you to be patient and seek the guidance and advice before taking any further actions.

I know patience has been one of your pet peeves since eternity; but still, a little patience once in a while can’t hurt, isn't it??

The Hermit symbolizes a careful consideration of issues in hand. You may also end up wishing for some peace and quiet before getting back into the hectic schedule of the things.
And that would be a really wise thing to do-because the appearance of this card doesn't only nudge towards the direction of slowness and patience; it also warns you against acting otherwise.
Also, this time alone would enable you to understand your own past better-you would gain an insight into your past actions, events and behaviors, enabling you to be a better person in the future.

This month, it would be better not to take any decisions in haste and take advice from someone you trust before acting any further.

This reflection would also reduce the required efforts in realization of your goals because the careful planning that would follow this deep reflection would eliminate, by foresight, the unnecessary labors.

If you’re suffering from any health problems, the rest, peace and solitude would prove to be beneficial in recovering form it as well.

TEN OF SWORDS (REVERSED)

If you are already undergoing some sort of suffering, I'm so sorry to have to break this to you but, be prepared for some more. If not, be ready for a not-so-moderate dose of it.

Ruin and desolation shall be dogging your footsteps the whole month, so watch out for them and be on every tenterhook that you can; because this year you can't be too cautious.

But don't throw up your hands in despair and wail out your hearts, Martians. At least not yet!!!!

There's a way to avoid, or at least mitigate or minimize, your ordeals and sufferings, if only you keep a bit of patience. I know it's hard for you Mars-dwellers; but I assure you it won't be the least hard than what Ten of Swords wants to offer you.

First of all, I want you to carefully observe the figure in the card. Though it is lying on the ground, stabbed by not one or two but ten swords, I assure you he's not dead. Yet.
This symbolizes the hope I want to give to you.
Now look at the sky. Though it's very dark at most parts, but there's also a streak of light out there. What does this symbolize??? Of course, sunrise. Though till now clouds have been covering the sky, but now their regime is about to crumble. The sun is all set to rise.
Likewise, in spite of many difficulties and challenges that you shall definitely face this July, the hope for your redemption shall never be totally lost. All you'll have to do is to keep an eye open for it, and it shall stop your insides from freezing due to the storm clouds and blizzards of life.

Let me tell you a secret, which should brighten you up (a pinch at least). There's no arguing the fact that this card, Ten of Swords, is indeed a formidable and unlucky one. But being 'reversed' does dilute it to a great extent. Being in reversed form, it indicates that the situation in itself is not as bad as the way you perceive it. You are making a mountain out of, though definitely not a molehill, a hill. Problems might not be as bad as you make them yourself.

Furthermore, your negative, pessimistic attitude may even stop you from witnessing the moment of ending of your sufferings. You may not realize when have your problems ended and new phases of your life begun. And if this indeed happens, it shall be very unfortunate because then you wouldn't even be able to come out of the despite and negativity.

However, if you indeed want to achieve this, you need to ascertain something. Liberate yourself of old patterns of behavior and thoughts, drop the emotional baggage that you might have gathered during your hard times and turn over a whole new leaf. Your life would be too cluttered if you try to accommodate both the old and the new.

This card indicates a turn for the better.
